Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day was quite a success, no huge upsets and I got lots of things. :-)

So, to start off I received two music cds from my 14 year old daughter, Kristi. I love Jazz and I am sure that her step-dad gave her these recommends: Chris Botti’s Italia (trumpet jazz is the best!) and Madeleine Peyroux’s Careless Love.  Definitely a great choice, and I will definitely take the time to listen to some more music of my liking, especially since as of late I have been subjected to the likes of current day radio music via my daughter. Ugh. Thanks to Kristi for the cds!

Next my husband, Jon, gave me several things. I was whining one day at work (and yes this is the only time I will admit to actual whining) about how warm it is in our office area and he gave me an early Mother’s Day gift: A small desk fan by Windchaser. It is cool (no pun intended) and helps with hot flashes. That was like Tuesday prior to, and would have to say I have used it everyday to include this moment.

On Sunday I got several more things, Jon is always good at getting me a few things to ooo and ahhh over.  At Christmas I had asked for a Pashmina Shawl/Wrap from Azuri that was sort of pinkish close to red. Well after a few months I realized I really, really like this shawl it is light but keeps a chill off.  At the same time I realized that the pinkish/red that I loved doesn’t go with everything so I added a Ginger colored one to my Amazon list. Jon mentioned that since it was summer he shouldn’t have gotten that but I told him there are plenty of occasions that I could use a bit of a wrap but not a sweater and if he waited till Christmas to get if for me have the cold season was over.  He also got me a jacquard throw from Kirklands, it was brownish-burgundy definitely a good choice. Lastly, was a battery for a laptop that I have that could never be used for like more than 2 seconds before dying. Yippee, lots of loot!

The last thing, that I will never live down if not mentioned, is the breakfast that I got served in bed! It was ham cups with a fried egg, an orange cream crepe with berry sauce topping, and a chocolate cream crepe. It was delicious. Thanks Audra!

I am done talking about my successful loot collecting Mother’s Day and so, this is what I got my Mom: A pair of pajamas (that I gave to her about a week earlier, she was sick and needed a pick me up), and a pair of shoes from Skechers. For Jon’s mom we got a great deal on an 8″ Digital Picture Frame.

I hope that everyone had a great Mother’s Day and remember that although it is nice to get things it is also nice to just be thought of and appreciated on a daily basis. Hugs work really good, and not to mention that I love you’s without an I want after it are great too.
