Seriously…

I have a coworker who blogs quite regularly. His blog is sort of a “mind dump”, unlike the usual techie blogs that I am used to seeing or maybe I should refer to them as serious topics blog … Not that this coworker doesn’t talk about serious things but … well you just need to visit his site to understand.

Okay so onto why I am writing this post. The link above sends you to his post for the day. In this post, he talks about a reporters comments or notes on a Show that he participated in as part of a Graduation requirement for JSU. The report is outrageously wrong. I posted a comment sympathizing with my coworker and condoning his frustration.

There is seriously too many times when things are misconstrued or misunderstood because they were not relayed correctly. Yes, this is bound to happen in all forms of communication BUT the place that it should be possibly accurate would be when you are informing throngs of people. Ultimately, we should all keep in mind to not believe everything you hear or read. Do some research, read/listen from/to more than one reliable source. Finally, make your own well-informed opinion of things, statements, articles, people, etc. As a whole we rely entirely too much on the opinions and statements of others, and yes this is a habit, one that we can all break ourselves of by thinking for ourselves.
